(Y)our Diving in Tofo
Tofo’s coastline is largely undeveloped and full of life due to the Agulhas Current and allows some of the most spectacular diving in the world. The waters around Tofo, Mozambique’s unofficial diving capital, are teeming with biodiversity making it possible for year-long Whale Shark, Giant Manta, Ray, Dolphin and seasonal Humpback Whale sightings as well as a dazzling array of soft & hard corals, and the newly discovered reefs cement Tofo as a jewel of the Indian Ocean.

Besides these gentle giants, the Tofo area also offers spectacular world class diving on pristine reefs with an abundance of marine life ranging from soft and hard corals, pelagic fishes, multitudes of reef fishes, shrimps, nudibranchs, giant moray eels, turtles, dolphins and a variety of rays, some of which are not seen in many parts of the world like the small eye stingray. Sightings of White Tip, Black Tip and Grey Reef Sharks are a common occurrence and even the occasional Leopard Shark or Hammerhead Sharks are seen every now and then.
Once you’ve pushed the pontoon boat past the breakers and everyone is secured in the vessel, be prepared for a stunning journey through the bay to one of several close or far reefs where your guide will begin to introduce you to the underwater paradise of Mozambique. Water temperatures range from 20C in winter to 30C in the summer months. Visibility is an average 15 m for the year with ranges between 5 m to as much as 40 m during our clearer months, typically between April and October.
Humpback Whales in Tofo
Last but not least during the winter months (May to October) large numbers of Humpback Whales migrate along the coastline and come very close to shore in the Tofo area, thus broadening the chances to observe some more giants of the deep. Humpbacks Whales are frequently seen from the boat but there is also a good probability of an encounter whilst you are diving, which constitutes a unique chance to see these huge creatures up close and personal. If you are not lucky enough to spot one, you’ll at least listen to their fantastic songs whilst diving in any of our reefs!

(Y)our Safaris at the Kruger & Gorongosa National Park
Most wild animals are active at dawn and dusk, so to see them we’ll have to be too. Expect early starts to your days (seasonal dependent, from 4:30 to 6am) softened by a hearty breakfast pleasantly prepared by your guide Robert or David.
We’ll spend about 4-hours searching for wildlife, followed by 1 hour lunch break at a rest camp (restaurants on-site) before we end the day with another 4-hour excursions through Kruger. When we see something, we always positions the vehicle with camera angles in mind and also cut the engine to more fully enjoy the animals in as natural a setting as possible.
To get the most out of your Kruger safari tour, each evening you’ll experience a new rest camp as we traverse the Park’s southerly reaches, going as far north as the Shingwedzi River. This affords our clients the opportunity to witness a larger breadth of the park’s vast landscapes and game.
After a full day of driving filled with excitement, you’ll need a quality place to unwind and rest and we offer splendid accommodation options scattered throughout the Park. Each establishment is a highly provisioned luxurious experience, nestled into the natural surroundings and positioned for optimum wildlife sightings. Your party will stay in high-end bungalow or family chalets, depending on the group’s size, and enjoy lunch and evening meals at the camp’s well stocked dining facilities.
We’ll spend our time focused in the South of the Park, where most animals congregate, so our camp options could include any of the following sites: Berg en Dal, Pretoriuskop, Skukuza, Lower Sabie, Satara.
Occasionally, due to client flights and strictly enforced park access times, our first evening will be spent at a game lodge just outside the entrance, however, where feasible we’ll spend all three evenings getting lost, figuratively not literally, in Africa’s wild beauty.
You’ll be logging in fair amount of road time, so having a comfortable and reliable 4×4 vehicle is crucial to a safe and enjoyable journey. Our vehicle is always professionally maintained, undergoing rigorous pre and post-trip inspection, giving us confidence, each journey will be a safe and pleasurable ride.
Gorongosa: With an environmental quality of growing profusely, the Gorongosa National Park is considered one of the best natural parks after rehabilitation from the Civil War from 1977 to 1992.
Thought to be one of the most special and unique parks on earth, once again, scientists think it to be a major hotspot for biodiversity. Many travelers and tourists interests state it to be a place that must be saved for the future and the generations to come. The Gorongosa National Park therefore depend on the vital role of every guest for the role in the wildlife conservation effort.
Trying to help the park to return to its rightful place of being on of the greatest places in Africa, the park works with a 21sth Century conservation models, where balancing the needs of wildlife and people are on a scale while protecting and saving the wilderness.
The park offers the old Lion House, the viewpoint of hippos, the limestone cliffs of Chiringoma, the lake Urema floodplains, cascades of Murombozi River in the Serra da Gorongosa, the Vinho community and the setting of the sun in Bué Maria.
The Gorongosa National Park remains closed between mid-December until the end of March due to the rainy season. Some roads may remain closed after reopening until they’re considered safe to drive on.
